WRONG OR RIGHT

I am finding that
as each day passes,
I move closer towards the concept
“there is no wrong or right,
there is just is-ness.”

I am finding that
in every situation,
whether hellacious or a delight,
there is something that I learn
about the truth of me, myself and I.

I am finding that
existence is
among the mundane and diverse,
like a shooting star soaring through
a “no wrong or right” Universe.

I am finding that
the story of I continually is written,
pages of heartbreak, anger and joys smitten;
evolution of dates, places and times,
makes up the volumes contained in my soul and mind.

I am finding that
its not up to me to determine what is wrong or right;
the truth for me may not fit you in size.
Like you, I am just a human shooting star,
unfolding within the Universe of life.

Where did wrong come from?
Where did right begin?
Did it arise from a stellar origin
or is it defined by each of us,
according to our respective syllabus?

“MOTHERLAND”

“Motherland”
(written by Natalie Merchant)

Where in hell can you go
Far from the things that you know
Far from the sprawl of concrete
That keeps crawling its way
About 1,000 miles a day?

Take one last look behind
Commit this to memory and mind
Don’t miss this wasteland, this terrible place
When you leave
Keep your heart off your sleeve

Motherland cradle me
Close my eyes
Lullaby me to sleep
Keep me safe
Lie with me
Stay beside me
Don’t go, don’t you go

O, my five & dime queen
Tell me what have you seen?
The lust and the avarice
The bottomless, the cavernous greed
Is that what you see?

Motherland cradle me
Close my eyes
Lullaby me to sleep
Keep me safe
Lie with me
Stay beside me
Don’t go

It’s your happiness I want most of all
And for that I’d do anything at all, o mercy me!
If you want the best of it or the most of all
If there’s anything I can do at all

Now come on shot gun bride
What makes me envy your life?
Faceless, nameless, innocent, blameless and free,
What’s that like to be?

Motherland cradle me
Close my eyes
Lullaby me to sleep
Keep me safe
Lie with me
Stay beside me
Don’t go, don’t you go

WORD OF THE DAY: PANACEA

pan·a·ce·a/ˌpanəˈsēə/

Noun:
A solution or remedy for all difficulties or diseases.
Synonyms:
cure –  nostrum – redress – solution

“My great panacea for making society at once better and more enjoyable would be to cultivate greater sincerity.” ~ Frances Power Cobbe

Consider. With the appearance (or evolution) of mankind, humanity followed augmented by the manifestation of boundaries and structure for speech, conduct, and most importantly, the heart. An old proverb from long ago encouraged mankind to embrace and cherish the PANACEA of truth, light and love, as follows:

Sow a thought, reap an action;
Sow an action, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a destiny.

Through the PANACEA of sincerity, respect and tolerance, humanity can heal from the negative shift it seems to have been traveling decades of late. Let us take our own personal inventory, and leave the taking of other’s inventory to each, respectively. Through this intangible and soulful PANACEA, may humanity grow strong to endure any challenge (pain, illness, fallibility, and/or defeat) that may arise … together, as one, Universally.

ZEN OF PASSION

I love what I do,
I do what I love;
whether a poet,
a musician or
dreamer, thereof.

The greatest of great
is the change Love brings;
growth of mind and soul
and the song Passion sings.

The air of boredom
is no friend, indeed;
impact it makes not
on you or on me.

Find your true passion,
find your deep strength,
find your core value
in the time you expend.

‘Cause at the day’s end
reflection will arrive
to show you the impact
your Love had on life.

WORD OF THE DAY: “FLOW”

flow/flō/

Verb:
Move along or out steadily and continuously in a current or stream.
Noun:
The action or fact of moving along in a steady, continuous stream.
Synonyms:
verb.  circulate – drift – float – stream – surf
noun.  continuation – ebb – flux – movement

‘Life isn’t stagnant, in my opinion. Change is the only constant amid the ebb and flow of the Universe. As the infamous Borg saying goes, “Resistance is futile!”‘~Michelle Maynard-Koenig

“A Fist Unfurling” by Eran Eyal, 2004

The Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, theorized that change is the essence of the Universe. Simply, everything FLOWS, nothing stands still. Heraclitus’ theory does not discriminate between Positive or Negative. In life one cannot exist without the other. It is the wholeness, the contrast of one to the other, that fosters the velocity and FLOW through life. Could it be that reality is subjective as to our unique perspective and life experiences? One way to look at it: Focus is our surfboard, Life is the waves, the Universe is the ocean, and each of us are the Surfers choosing the manner in which we FLOW, albeit Positive or Negative. We either go with the FLOW or we don’t. It has been my experience that resistance to change has brought about more unpleasantries and discomfort in my life, than when I gave up control, faced the wave (fear of unknown), and allowed it to take me to my next experience or journey.

WORD OF THE DAY: “PERCEIVE”

per·ceive/pərˈsēv/

Verb:
  1. Become aware or conscious of (something); come to realize or understand.
  2. Become aware of (something) by the use of one of the senses, esp. that of sight.
Synonyms:
comprehend – notice – see – sense

“Our senses enable us to perceive only a minute portion of the outside world.”~Nikola Tesla

Consider. We humans have evolved in life to PERCEIVE and process what we PERCEIVE. More so, we have the ability to be mindful while doing so. There is no limit to dreams, imagination, and journeys. The possibilities are endless.

WORD OF THE DAY: “PROBITY”

pro·bi·ty/ˈprōbitē/

Noun:
The quality of integrity and rectitude.
Synonyms:
authenticity – honesty – justice – sincerity

I live with hope to see the day when respect exceeds malice among the human race; when the strong in wealth, social class and/or spirit do not exploit the poor in wealth, social class and/or spirit; vice-versa. I live with hope to see the day when people realize the Ego is never satisfied – a gormandizer, a glutton for exploitation, ravenously causing war, famine, poverty, inside a person and out, to feed its desire. I live with hope to see the day when man embraces probity in all aspects of life, when love and light overshadows hate and darkness. I live for peace. ~Michelle Maynard-Koenig

PROBITY’S PRIZE

To dissect the truth behind a wholesome tongue,
Is to prolong an epiphany — savory and strong.

It swells in the cheeks and waltzes along the teeth,
Until it reaches the center — in a finale of relief.

Now standing on top of white rimmed ledge,
It jumps outside — soaring over each dread.

Traveling beyond the sight of physical eyes,
Through fear and concern — swiftly it flies.

Into tunnels of shadow where all else failed,
It curls up in corners — prepared to prevail.

Nestled among dreams and old desires lost,
Compassionately it fights — to win at all cost.

Courage is the seed of every smile one bears,
Setting hearts in motion — forgetting despair.

And truth finds it’s wings on the corners of lips,
When good intents meet — within a firm grip.

Our honesty presses on even when we cannot,
Resurrecting the trust — in lives we had forgot.

To dissect the truth behind a wholesome tongue,
Is to prolong an epiphany — savory and strong.

WORD OF THE DAY: “COACH”

coach/kōCH/

Noun:
A person who trains or instructs.
Verb:
Train or instruct.
Adverb:
In economy class accommodations in an aircraft or train.
Synonyms:
noun.  educator – mentor – tutor
verb.  educate – teach – tutor

I don’t need to spend a large amount of money for someone to instruct me on life. Life, in and of itself, is a free mentor. From Life, I receive excellent instruction on Happiness, Gratitude and Serenity, as well as Greed, Gluttony and Guise.

I find there is more to life than money, prestige and narcissistic power. May I always embrace its pureness of truth, trust and respect in the guidance of greatest COACH of all: Life. Taking ownership for my own life and responsibility for my own thoughts, words and actions is simply empowering!

A FRIEND, FREE OF CHARGE

A human being, am I
amid this Earth and Sky.

I am not perfect with all the answers,
as you, I am fallible and diverse.

But when I open to you in truth and honesty,
it may be the moment we find similarity.

The same goes for me, when I am in need
for direction, compassion, or validity.

Some charge for sharing with others
life lessons learned, loving or averse.

Incredulous as it may seem,
being a mentor or friend, one charges a fee.

Is there one right way
to live each and every day?

Or is it a dance,
you and I, by chance.

Live the best we can;
uplift each other, across all lands.

We are of love and light,
given to us freely with life.

All answers are within,
sometimes seen more clear by human reflection.

A mentor I may be,
to each person in need.

As what I give to the Universe
comes back to me to re-disperse.

To be quite honest, you don’t need me,
to tell you that you have the freedom to be.

I honor the place within you where the entire Universe resides;
I honor the place within you of love, of truth and light.

I am a Human, a Soul, a Friend at large,
completely free of charge.

WORD OF THE DAY: “WORD”

word/wərd/

Noun:
  1. A single distinct meaningful element of speech or writing, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown.
  2. The smallest unit of language, consisting of one or more spoken sounds or their written representation, that functions as a principal carrier of meaning. Words are composed of one or more morphemes and are either the smallest unites susceptible of independent use or consist of two or three such units combined under certain linking conditions, as with the loss of primary accent that distinguishes blackbird from black bird. Words are usually separated by spaces in writing, and are distinguished phonologically, as by accent, in may languages.
Verb:
Choose and use particular words in order to say or write (something).
Exclamation:
Used to express agreement.
Synonyms:
noun.  concept – expression – term – vocable
verb.  couch – formulate – phrase – verbalize

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean–neither more nor less.” ~Lewis Carroll

If someone asked you “what is a WORD,” how would you respond? Upon first appearance, the question seems simple. The word, “WORD”, itself, seems rudimentary. However, looks can be deceiving. Many will say they know the answer to the question, yet when they begin to respond, they find it is more difficult than they thought.

There are endless interpretations and meanings given to WORD, just as there can be endless meanings and interpretations given to Art. As diverse as the eyes of a Universe of beholders. People of many cultures, languages and countries will disagree as to WORD, as well. The dictionary isn’t much help since many dictionaries have multi-sentence, ad hoc definitions which basically boil down to “a WORD is a unit of language that means something, sort of.” (Emphasis added.)

In my simplistic mind, WORD is a conglomerate of syllables and letters that is given meaning through inflection in voice or tone, written or oral. Basically, the WORD I convey inherits meaning by my intent.

So, the next time you find yourself amid the angst or pain resulting from the conveyed WORD of another, remember the oft childhood adage:

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”
